Sometimes, the best and most economical solution is to assemble commercially available components to meet customer needs. In this example, a dual-axis slide table was combined with a work-holding vise, both off-the-shelf components. I designed a simple, inexpensive adapter to join the pieces and added our corporate color finish—and voilà: inexpensive, functional, and visually appealing.
